Fans of the popular Sims PC game franchise will have to wait a little bit longer for the fourth installment of the game. Electronic Arts has announced that the Sims 4 will be released in the fall of 2014, instead of spring as originally anticipated.
The Sims Franchise
The Sims PC game franchise is the best-selling PC game franchise of all time, selling over 150 million copies since the original Sims game came out in February of 2000.
In those 13 plus years, EA has released three full versions of the game: the original game in 2000, The Sims 2 in September of 2004 and The Sims 3 in June of 2009. The company has also released many expansion packs and online and console versions. The Sims 4 will be the fourth full version of the game.
The Sims in the upcoming version of the game will be even more advanced and complex than they are in the groundbreaking Sims 3 series, as they will have real emotions and the personalities and appearances will be even more developed.
Other Changes in The Sims 4
Developers of The Sims 4 will be making it easier for more people to play the game. The Sims 3 requires users to be connected to the internet while playing but The Sims 4 will not have this stipulation. The Sims 4 also has lower system requirements than most new games, so users will be less likely to have to upgrade their machines in order to be able to enjoy the new game.
