The Sims 4 Release Date postponed to Fall 2014

Fans of the popular Sims PC game franchise will have to wait a little bit longer for the fourth installment of the game. Electronic Arts has announced that the Sims 4 will be released in the fall of 2014, instead of spring as originally anticipated.

    The Sims Franchise

The Sims PC game franchise is the best-selling PC game franchise of all time, selling over 150 million copies since the original Sims game came out in February of 2000.

In those 13 plus years, EA has released three full versions of the game: the original game in 2000, The Sims 2 in September of 2004 and The Sims 3 in June of 2009. The company has also released many expansion packs and online and console versions. The Sims 4 will be the fourth full version of the game.

    Improved Sims

The Sims in the upcoming version of the game will be even more advanced and complex than they are in the groundbreaking Sims 3 series, as they will have real emotions and the personalities and appearances will be even more developed.

Other Changes in The Sims 4

Developers of The Sims 4 will be making it easier for more people to play the game. The Sims 3 requires users to be connected to the internet while playing but The Sims 4 will not have this stipulation. The Sims 4 also has lower system requirements than most new games, so users will be less likely to have to upgrade their machines in order to be able to enjoy the new game.

    1. If my Sim’s reaction to this post was being recorded, the
readings on the sad side of the emotional meter would be off the charts. But
the fact that developers are taking this time to polish the offline option for
the game makes it easier for me to wait =)

    2. I already can’t wait for Sims 4 to come out and now they’re
postponing it even more? UUUUGGGHH. But I guess if they’re doing it to improve
on the features it will be worth it…so excited to see the newly developed “real”
emotions and personalities! And offline gaming is always a plus!

    3. I really hope it’s worth the wait.. I think back to the first version of the game and I’m amazed at how far they’re going with this. They might be taking more tiem to improve game engine more, if Sims 4 is moving towards lower system requirements it might be only a matter of time before they launch a tablet/mobile version

Few things that have always bothered me,

I enjoyed how the custom content in TS2 had a lot of options such as having custom food, but in the sims 3 there was none at all.
Custom content should be easy to create, and add to your game, not just clothes, but furniture, architectural, jewellery, tattoos, shoes, food, and plants. And the tools should be available for everyone so we can make our own games as unique and fun as possible.

Has nobody ever asked why Maxis said in the first generation of Sims that all custom content would always be free and available to all players? Who wants to pay extra for the furniture sets when you can find better ones on TSR, etc. IT MAKES NO SENSE.

Also, weather and pets should already be included in the game, you can always add new pets into future expansion packs..

Being able to run your own Business in TS2 was a very interesting idea, but to expand on it in TS4 I’d love to see my sims running a restaurant/club, etc. And actually working, like serving tables and drinks, taking orders, MORE OPTIONS. 🙂

Does anyone remember the Sims Superstar and Making Magic? There was so many more options for magic and being a celebrity in TS3, there needs to be moooreee options yet again. For example being able to host a concert, and actually be there instead of looking at a building you can’t see through. And for magic something like more than being a fairy, and a witch.

Like most people I enjoy decorating houses. The new tools in TS2 were great, but i need more to work with. definitely more items, that aren’t just dull deco items you can’t do anything with..

To make it more cultural you could add much much much more to the kitchen/food side of the game because who else is tired of cooking the same meals over and over? One thing that would be a ginormous improvement in the sims is if there was actually steps to cooking like cutting lettuce, sprinkling cheese and spices, mashing potatoes, etc. instead of just clicking what you want to cook and having your sim automatically do it. Theres never been enough selection. Especially for the BBQ. I suggest make more appliances like cake pop makers, deep fryers, and stuff, make sure that people can create their own!

TS4 needs more ingredients and actions for use, cooking is too boring and it’s my favourite aspect of gameplay! Step by step actions for making meals like the app Order’s Up for Ipad and Iphone. I’m dreaming.

Can we actually have options for the fish we catch in TS4 other than cooking in sushi, displaying or mounting on the walls?

I believe we should have the option of being able to control the movement of our sims when we’re not doing a task or picking something up.

I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’ve been waiting patiently since the very first game and I just can’t wait another 4 years for a few more differences in gameplay. I can’t stress my frustration enough..

      Maxis, make us proud

      Who’s with me?

      • I love where you are going with this, and maybe you should write the company and give them some suggestions for expansion packs….the deep fryers tid-bit, make like a carnival expansion pack or something to do with events. And again with the TS2, I loved the business expansion, I wished they had made one for TS3, hoping for TS4 they do. We also have to keep in mind though, it takes time and money to better these things, and while they have the resources, sometimes too much detail is a bad thing.

      • It would also be great if you could follow your sims family members when
they move out and then come back to your original family like in Sims
        2. I miss it so much. It gave us the chance to really expand our family

      • I also think that the sims3 university expansion pack shouldn’t be a expansion pack you should have university automatically

    5. Oh! That is not good! There is quite long time to go in Fall 2014. However, just hope this is happening for good. If the extra months were used to really improve on the features, that is not a bad thing to do. And that can make it worth the long wait.

    6. Oh! Not good, that is quite a long span of time. However, just hope this turns out to be worth the long waiting. If extra features and some great features were to be added, making use of the extra time they have got, this may not ultimately be deemed as a bad move.

    7. hello i have been looking deeply into the sims and i was wondering if you could add a religion you have made that isnt real and if the sims pray and go to church they could get karma/god points so you can add the powers into the next sims
